Cold LASER, also known as Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), use low level light energy to stimulate healing. When the laser light is applied to the area of pain, the light is absorbed by the tissue and it triggers biological reactions at the cellular level. The chain of reactions will result in the desired therapeutic effects such as improved healing time, decreased pain, improved circulation, and reduced swelling1.
What conditions does it treat?
- Plantar fasciitis2
- Tendinitis
- Ankle sprains
- Arthritis
- Peripheral Neuropathy
- Neuritis/Morton’s Neuroma
What should I expect?
During your appointment: There is no pain during the treatment as cold lasers do not generate any perceivable heat. Each session is approximately 10 minutes and depending on your condition, 2-10 sessions may be needed. Protective goggles will be provided and worn by both the patient and your Chiropodist during the treatment.
After your appointment: There is no recovery or down time after each treatment session. Most patients will see a reduction in symptoms with long lasting relief after a few sessions2.
